Johannes

1Jesus erfuhr, dass die Pharisäer gehört hatten, er gewinne und taufe mehr Jünger als Johannes -

2allerdings taufte nicht Jesus selbst, sondern seine Jünger -;

3daraufhin verließ er Judäa und ging wieder nach Galiläa.

4Er musste aber den Weg durch Samarien nehmen.

5So kam er zu einem Ort in Samarien, der Sychar hieß und nahe bei dem Grundstück lag, das Jakob seinem Sohn Josef vermacht hatte.

6Dort befand sich der Jakobsbrunnen. Jesus war müde von der Reise und setzte sich daher an den Brunnen; es war um die sechste Stunde.

7Da kam eine samaritische Frau, um Wasser zu schöpfen. Jesus sagte zu ihr: Gib mir zu trinken!

8Seine Jünger waren nämlich in den Ort gegangen, um etwas zum Essen zu kaufen.

9Die samaritische Frau sagte zu ihm: Wie kannst du als Jude mich, eine Samariterin, um Wasser bitten? Die Juden verkehren nämlich nicht mit den Samaritern.

10Jesus antwortete ihr: Wenn du wüsstest, worin die Gabe Gottes besteht und wer es ist, der zu dir sagt: Gib mir zu trinken!, dann hättest du ihn gebeten, und er hätte dir lebendiges Wasser gegeben.

11Sie sagte zu ihm: Herr, du hast kein Schöpfgefäß, und der Brunnen ist tief; woher hast du also das lebendige Wasser?

12Bist du etwa größer als unser Vater Jakob, der uns den Brunnen gegeben und selbst daraus getrunken hat, wie seine Söhne und seine Herden?

13Jesus antwortete ihr: Wer von diesem Wasser trinkt, wird wieder Durst bekommen;

14wer aber von dem Wasser trinkt, das ich ihm geben werde, wird niemals mehr Durst haben; vielmehr wird das Wasser, das ich ihm gebe, in ihm zur sprudelnden Quelle werden, deren Wasser ewiges Leben schenkt.

15Da sagte die Frau zu ihm: Herr, gib mir dieses Wasser, damit ich keinen Durst mehr habe und nicht mehr hierher kommen muss, um Wasser zu schöpfen.

16Er sagte zu ihr: Geh, ruf deinen Mann und komm wieder her!

17Die Frau antwortete: Ich habe keinen Mann. Jesus sagte zu ihr: Du hast richtig gesagt: Ich habe keinen Mann.

18Denn fünf Männer hast du gehabt und der, den du jetzt hast, ist nicht dein Mann. Damit hast du die Wahrheit gesagt.

19Die Frau sagte zu ihm: Herr, ich sehe, dass du ein Prophet bist.

20Unsere Väter haben auf diesem Berg Gott angebetet; ihr aber sagt, in Jerusalem sei die Stätte, wo man anbeten muss.

21Jesus sprach zu ihr: Glaube mir, Frau, die Stunde kommt, zu der ihr weder auf diesem Berg noch in Jerusalem den Vater anbeten werdet.

22Ihr betet an, was ihr nicht kennt, wir beten an, was wir kennen; denn das Heil kommt von den Juden.

23Aber die Stunde kommt und sie ist schon da, zu der die wahren Beter den Vater anbeten werden im Geist und in der Wahrheit; denn so will der Vater angebetet werden.

24Gott ist Geist und alle, die ihn anbeten, müssen im Geist und in der Wahrheit anbeten.

25Die Frau sagte zu ihm: Ich weiß, dass der Messias kommt, das ist: der Gesalbte (Christus). Wenn er kommt, wird er uns alles verkünden.

26Da sagte Jesus zu ihr: Ich bin es, ich, der mit dir spricht.

27Inzwischen waren seine Jünger zurückgekommen. Sie wunderten sich, dass er mit einer Frau sprach, aber keiner sagte: Was willst du?, oder: Was redest du mit ihr?

28Da ließ die Frau ihren Wasserkrug stehen, eilte in den Ort und sagte zu den Leuten:

29Kommt her, seht, da ist ein Mann, der mir alles gesagt hat, was ich getan habe: Ist er vielleicht der Messias?

30Da liefen sie hinaus aus dem Ort und gingen zu Jesus.

31Währenddessen drängten ihn seine Jünger: Rabbi, iss!

32Er aber sagte zu ihnen: Ich lebe von einer Speise, die ihr nicht kennt.

33Da sagten die Jünger zueinander: Hat ihm jemand etwas zu essen gebracht?

34Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Meine Speise ist es, den Willen dessen zu tun, der mich gesandt hat, und sein Werk zu Ende zu führen.

35Sagt ihr nicht: Noch vier Monate dauert es bis zur Ernte? Ich aber sage euch: Blickt umher und seht, dass die Felder weiß sind, reif zur Ernte.

36Schon empfängt der Schnitter seinen Lohn und sammelt Frucht für das ewige Leben, so dass sich der Sämann und der Schnitter gemeinsam freuen.

37Denn hier hat das Sprichwort recht: Einer sät und ein anderer erntet.

38Ich habe euch gesandt zu ernten, wofür ihr nicht gearbeitet habt; andere haben gearbeitet und ihr erntet die Frucht ihrer Arbeit.

39Viele Samariter aus jenem Ort kamen zum Glauben an Jesus auf das Wort der Frau hin, die bezeugt hatte: Er hat mir alles gesagt, was ich getan habe.

40Als die Samariter zu ihm kamen, baten sie ihn, bei ihnen zu bleiben; und er blieb dort zwei Tage.

41Und noch viel mehr Leute kamen zum Glauben an ihn aufgrund seiner eigenen Worte.

42Und zu der Frau sagten sie: Nicht mehr aufgrund deiner Aussage glauben wir, sondern weil wir ihn selbst gehört haben und nun wissen: Er ist wirklich der Retter der Welt.

4:1 - ut ergo cognovit Iesus quia audierunt Pharisaei quia Iesus plures discipulos facit et baptizat quam Iohannes

4:2 - quamquam Iesus non baptizaret sed discipuli eius

4:3 - reliquit Iudaeam et abiit iterum in Galilaeam

4:4 - oportebat autem eum transire per Samariam

4:5 - venit ergo in civitatem Samariae quae dicitur Sychar iuxta praedium quod dedit Iacob Ioseph filio suo

4:6 - erat autem ibi fons Iacob Iesus ergo fatigatus ex itinere sedebat sic super fontem hora erat quasi sexta

4:7 - venit mulier de Samaria haurire aquam dicit ei Iesus da mihi bibere

4:8 - discipuli enim eius abierant in civitatem ut cibos emerent

4:9 - dicit ergo ei mulier illa samaritana quomodo tu Iudaeus cum sis bibere a me poscis quae sum mulier samaritana non enim coutuntur Iudaei Samaritanis

4:10 - respondit Iesus et dixit ei si scires donum Dei et quis est qui dicit tibi da mihi bibere tu forsitan petisses ab eo et dedisset tibi aquam vivam

4:11 - dicit ei mulier Domine neque in quo haurias habes et puteus altus est unde ergo habes aquam vivam

4:12 - numquid tu maior es patre nostro Iacob qui dedit nobis puteum et ipse ex eo bibit et filii eius et pecora eius

4:13 - respondit Iesus et dixit ei omnis qui bibit ex aqua hac sitiet iterum qui autem biberit ex aqua quam ego dabo ei non sitiet in aeternum

4:14 - sed aqua quam dabo ei fiet in eo fons aquae salientis in vitam aeternam

4:15 - dicit ad eum mulier Domine da mihi hanc aquam ut non sitiam neque veniam huc haurire

4:16 - dicit ei Iesus vade voca virum tuum et veni huc

4:17 - respondit mulier et dixit non habeo virum dicit ei Iesus bene dixisti quia non habeo virum

4:18 - quinque enim viros habuisti et nunc quem habes non est tuus vir hoc vere dixisti

4:19 - dicit ei mulier Domine video quia propheta es tu

4:20 - patres nostri in monte hoc adoraverunt et vos dicitis quia Hierosolymis est locus ubi adorare oportet

4:21 - dicit ei Iesus mulier crede mihi quia veniet hora quando neque in monte hoc neque in Hierosolymis adorabitis Patrem

4:22 - vos adoratis quod nescitis nos adoramus quod scimus quia salus ex Iudaeis est

4:23 - sed venit hora et nunc est quando veri adoratores adorabunt Patrem in spiritu et veritate nam et Pater tales quaerit qui adorent eum

4:24 - spiritus est Deus et eos qui adorant eum in spiritu et veritate oportet adorare

4:25 - dicit ei mulier scio quia Messias venit qui dicitur Christus cum ergo venerit ille nobis adnuntiabit omnia

4:26 - dicit ei Iesus ego sum qui loquor tecum

4:27 - et continuo venerunt discipuli eius et mirabantur quia cum muliere loquebatur nemo tamen dixit quid quaeris aut quid loqueris cum ea

4:28 - reliquit ergo hydriam suam mulier et abiit in civitatem et dicit illis hominibus

4:29 - venite videte hominem qui dixit mihi omnia quaecumque feci numquid ipse est Christus

4:30 - exierunt de civitate et veniebant ad eum

4:31 - interea rogabant eum discipuli dicentes rabbi manduca

4:32 - ille autem dixit eis ego cibum habeo manducare quem vos nescitis

4:33 - dicebant ergo discipuli ad invicem numquid aliquis adtulit ei manducare

4:34 - dicit eis Iesus meus cibus est ut faciam voluntatem eius qui misit me ut perficiam opus eius

4:35 - nonne vos dicitis quod adhuc quattuor menses sunt et messis venit ecce dico vobis levate oculos vestros et videte regiones quia albae sunt iam ad messem

4:36 - et qui metit mercedem accipit et congregat fructum in vitam aeternam ut et qui seminat simul gaudeat et qui metit

4:37 - in hoc enim est verbum verum quia alius est qui seminat et alius est qui metit

4:38 - ego misi vos metere quod vos non laborastis alii laboraverunt et vos in laborem eorum introistis

4:39 - ex civitate autem illa multi crediderunt in eum Samaritanorum propter verbum mulieris testimonium perhibentis quia dixit mihi omnia quaecumque feci

4:40 - cum venissent ergo ad illum Samaritani rogaverunt eum ut ibi maneret et mansit ibi duos dies

4:41 - et multo plures crediderunt propter sermonem eius

4:42 - et mulieri dicebant quia iam non propter tuam loquellam credimus ipsi enim audivimus et scimus quia hic est vere salvator mundi

    The Gospel according

to John

4:1 - Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John

4:2 - (although Jesus himself didn't baptize, but his disciples),

4:3 - he left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.

4:4 - He needed to pass through Samaria.

4:5 - So he came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son, Joseph.

4:6 - Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

4:7 - A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink."

4:8 - For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

4:9 - The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, "How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)

4:10 - Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

4:11 - The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where then have you that living water?

4:12 - Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his sons, and his cattle?"

4:13 - Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,

4:14 - but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."

4:15 - The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I don't get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw."

4:16 - Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."

4:17 - The woman answered, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You said well, 'I have no husband,'

4:18 - for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly."

4:19 - The woman said to him, "Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.

4:20 - Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship."

4:21 - Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father.

4:22 - You worship that which you don't know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.

4:23 - But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers.

4:24 - God is a Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

4:25 - The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah comes," (he who is called Christ). "When he has come, he will declare to us all things."

4:26 - Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am he."

4:27 - At this, his disciples came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, "What are you looking for?" or, "Why do you speak with her?"

4:28 - So the woman left her water pot, and went away into the city, and said to the people,

4:29 - "Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Christ?"

4:30 - They went out of the city, and were coming to him.

4:31 - In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."

4:32 - But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you don't know about."

4:33 - The disciples therefore said one to another, "Has anyone brought him something to eat?"

4:34 - Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.

4:35 - Don't you say, 'There are yet four months until the harvest?' Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, that they are white already to harvest.

4:36 - He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

4:37 - For in this the saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.'

4:38 - I sent you to reap that for which you haven't labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."

4:39 - From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, 'He told me everything that I did."

4:40 - So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.

4:41 - Many more believed because of his word.

4:42 - They said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world."

          ΚΑΤΑ ΙΩΑΝΝΗΝ

4:1 - ¶ Καθως λοιπον εμαθεν ο Κυριος οτι ηκουσαν οι Φαρισαιοι οτι ο Ιησους πλειοτερους μαθητας καμνει και βαπτιζει παρα ο Ιωαννης-

4:2 - αν και ο Ιησους αυτος δεν εβαπτιζεν, αλλ' οι μαθηται αυτου-

4:3 - αφηκε την Ιουδαιαν και απηλθε παλιν εις την Γαλιλαιαν.

4:4 - ¶ Επρεπε δε να περαση δια της Σαμαρειας.

4:5 - Ερχεται λοιπον εις πολιν της Σαμαρειας λεγομενην Σιχαρ, πλησιον του αγρου, τον οποιον εδωκεν ο Ιακωβ εις τον Ιωσηφ τον υιον αυτου.

4:6 - Ητο δε εκει πηγη του Ιακωβ. Ο Ιησους λοιπον κεκοπιακως εκ της οδοιποριας εκαθητο ουτως εις την πηγην. Ωρα ητο περιπου εκτη.

4:7 - Ερχεται γυνη τις εκ της Σαμαρειας, δια να αντληση υδωρ. Λεγει προς αυτην ο Ιησους· Δος μοι να πιω.

4:8 - Διοτι οι μαθηται αυτου ειχον υπαγει εις την πολιν, δια να αγορασωσι τροφας.

4:9 - Λεγει λοιπον προς αυτον η γυνη η Σαμαρειτις· Πως συ, Ιουδαιος ων, ζητεις να πιης παρ' εμου, ητις ειμαι γυνη Σαμαρειτις; Διοτι δεν συγκοινωνουσιν οι Ιουδαιοι με τους Σαμαρειτας.

4:10 - Απεκριθη ο Ιησους και ειπε προς αυτην· Εαν ηξευρες την δωρεαν του Θεου, και τις ειναι ο λεγων σοι, Δος μοι να πιω, συ ηθελες ζητησει παρ' αυτου, και ηθελε σοι δωσει υδωρ ζων.

4:11 - Λεγει προς αυτον η γυνη· Κυριε, ουτε αντλημα εχεις, και το φρεαρ ειναι βαθυ· ποθεν λοιπον εχεις το υδωρ το ζων;

4:12 - μηπως συ εισαι μεγαλητερος του πατρος ημων Ιακωβ, οστις εδωκεν εις ημας το φρεαρ, και αυτος επιεν εξ αυτου και οι υιοι αυτου και τα θρεμματα αυτου;

4:13 - Απεκριθη ο Ιησους και ειπε προς αυτην· Πας οστις πινει εκ του υδατος τουτου θελει διψησει παλιν·

4:14 - οστις ομως πιη εκ του υδατος, το οποιον εγω θελω δωσει εις αυτον, δεν θελει διψησει εις τον αιωνα, αλλα το υδωρ, το οποιον θελω δωσει εις αυτον, θελει γεινει εν αυτω πηγη υδατος αναβλυζοντος εις ζωην αιωνιον.

4:15 - Λεγει προς αυτον η γυνη· Κυριε, δος μοι τουτο το υδωρ, δια να μη διψω μηδε να ερχωμαι εδω να αντλω.

4:16 - Λεγει προς αυτην ο Ιησους· Υπαγε, καλεσον τον ανδρα σου και ελθε εδω.

4:17 - Απεκριθη η γυνη και ειπε· Δεν εχω ανδρα. Λεγει προς αυτην ο Ιησους· Καλως ειπας οτι δεν εχω ανδρα·

4:18 - διοτι πεντε ανδρας ελαβες, και εκεινος, τον οποιον εχεις τωρα, δεν ειναι ανηρ σου· τουτο αληθες ειπας.

4:19 - Λεγει προς αυτον η γυνη· Κυριε, βλεπω οτι συ εισαι προφητης.

4:20 - Οι πατερες ημων εις τουτο το ορος προσεκυνησαν, και σεις λεγετε οτι εν τοις Ιεροσολυμοις ειναι ο τοπος οπου πρεπει να προσκυνωμεν.

4:21 - Λεγει προς αυτην ο Ιησους· Γυναι, πιστευσον μοι οτι ερχεται ωρα, οτε ουτε εις το ορος τουτο ουτε εις τα Ιεροσολυμα θελετε προσκυνησει τον Πατερα.

4:22 - Σεις προσκυνειτε εκεινο το οποιον δεν εξευρετε, ημεις προσκυνουμεν εκεινο το οποιον εξευρομεν, διοτι η σωτηρια ειναι εκ των Ιουδαιων.

4:23 - Πλην ερχεται ωρα, και ηδη ειναι, οτε οι αληθινοι προσκυνηται θελουσι προσκυνησει τον Πατερα εν πνευματι και αληθεια· διοτι ο Πατηρ τοιουτους ζητει τους προσκυνουντας αυτον.

4:24 - Ο Θεος ειναι Πνευμα, και οι προσκυνουντες αυτον εν πνευματι και αληθεια πρεπει να προσκυνωσι.

4:25 - Λεγει προς αυτον η γυνη· Εξευρω οτι ερχεται ο Μεσσιας, ο λεγομενος Χριστος· οταν ελθη εκεινος, θελει αναγγειλει εις ημας παντα.

4:26 - Λεγει προς αυτην ο Ιησους· Εγω ειμαι, ο λαλων σοι.

4:27 - ¶ Και επανω εις τουτο ηλθον οι μαθηται αυτου και εθαυμασαν οτι ελαλει μετα γυναικος· ουδεις ομως ειπε, Τι ζητεις; η Τι λαλεις μετ' αυτης;

4:28 - Αφηκε λοιπον η γυνη την υδριαν αυτης και υπηγεν εις την πολιν και λεγει προς τους ανθρωπους·

4:29 - Ελθετε να ιδητε ανθρωπον, οστις μοι ειπε παντα οσα επραξα· μηπως ουτος ειναι ο Χριστος;

4:30 - Εξηλθον λοιπον εκ της πολεως και ηρχοντο προς αυτον.

4:31 - Εν δε τω μεταξυ οι μαθηται παρεκαλουν αυτον λεγοντες· Ραββι, φαγε.

4:32 - Ο δε ειπε προς αυτους. Εγω εχω φαγητον να φαγω, το οποιον σεις δεν εξευρετε.

4:33 - Ελεγον λοιπον οι μαθηται προς αλληλους· Μηπως τις εφερε προς αυτον να φαγη;

4:34 - Λεγει προς αυτους ο Ιησους· Το εμον φαγητον ειναι να πραττω το θελημα του πεμψαντος με και να τελειωσω το εργον αυτου.

4:35 - Δεν λεγετε σεις οτι τεσσαρες μηνες ειναι ετι και ο θερισμος ερχεται; Ιδου, σας λεγω, υψωσατε τους οφθαλμους σας και ιδετε τα χωραφια, οτι ειναι ηδη λευκα προς θερισμον.

4:36 - Και ο θεριζων λαμβανει μισθον και συναγει καρπον εις ζωην αιωνιον, δια να χαιρη ομου και ο σπειρων και ο θεριζων.

4:37 - Διοτι κατα τουτο αληθευει ο λογος, οτι αλλος ειναι ο σπειρων και αλλος ο θεριζων.

4:38 - Εγω σας απεστειλα να θεριζητε εκεινο, εις το οποιον σεις δεν εκοπιασατε· αλλοι εκοπιασαν, και σεις εισηλθετε εις τον κοπον αυτων.

4:39 - Εξ εκεινης δε της πολεως πολλοι των Σαμαρειτων επιστευσαν εις αυτον δια τον λογον της γυναικος, μαρτυρουσης οτι μοι ειπε παντα οσα επραξα.

4:40 - Καθως λοιπον ηλθον προς αυτον οι Σαμαρειται, παρεκαλουν αυτον να μεινη παρ' αυτοις· και εμεινεν εκει δυο ημερας.

4:41 - Και πολυ πλειοτεροι επιστευσαν δια τον λογον αυτου,

4:42 - και προς την γυναικα ελεγον, οτι δεν πιστευομεν πλεον δια τον λογον σου· επειδη ημεις ηκουσαμεν, και γνωριζομεν οτι ουτος ειναι αληθως ο Σωτηρ του κοσμου, ο Χριστος.
